Application Guidelines
Please be aware that the following are our current guidelines within which we award grants
CS Disabled Holidays (formerly known as the Cavendish Spencer Trust) provides financial help for holidays for people living in with severe physical disability due to neurological or neuromuscular disorders. We can help with the cost of accommodation and travel for the disabled person and accompanying person or carer if appropriate. Some priority is given to adults and those who require mechanical respiratory support. CS Disabled Holidays are willing to fund up to 50% of the costs (to an absolute limit of £2,000) of a holiday of one or two weeks per year. It is anticipated that applicants will have also sought assistance from relevant statutory sources and disease-specific charities for the balance. We will not fund holidays retrospectively. Our other conditions of support are:
a) Applicants are either over 18 and applying for a grant for either a holiday or respite care or between the ages of 16 and 21 and applying for a trip for educational purposes.
b) that CS Disabled Holidays receives a copy of a pro-forma invoice at the time of the application and a receipted payment for the holiday/travel being funded prior to a grant being paid to an individual. If the grant is being paid directly to a holiday provider we are happy to pay the final portion of a holiday on behalf of the individual grant recipient. Such payment is made on behalf of the individual and at their risk. All grants awarded by CS Disabled Holidays are paid by bank transfer or cheque.
c) that payments by CS Disabled Holidays cannot be transferred to a different person or holiday venue or date from those stated on the application form
d) that CS Disabled Holidays grants are returned in their entirety if the proposed holiday is not taken for any reason what so ever. It is the applicant’s responsibility to notify CS Disabled Holidays Ltd if the holiday does not go ahead and to take suitable insurance to cover this risk and to select a suitable holiday.
e) that CS Disabled Holidays reserves the right to contact the professional individual supporting the application, to make enquiries only about this application.
f) that CS Disabled Holidays receives written feedback about the holiday in electronic form, and how it affected the applicant and some electronic photographs (phone cameras are fine!). CS Disabled Holidays may use this feedback and photos for promotional purposes, which may include the publication of this feedback to assist with fundraising. Please contact the Charity in writing at the time of notification that you grant has been awarded if you have any concerns with clause e, so that these can be discussed. Such concerns Must be notified when accepting your grant. CS Disabled Holidays will work with an individual to meet any issues with regards to any reasonable concerns.
